You should bring your PC (with power cables), monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones, and any other peripherals you need. Network cables will be provided, but feel free to bring your own. Don't forget any original game discs for the classics you want to play!
We'll have the Saturday evening braai with woord provided, bring own meat and drinks (NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED). For the rest of the event, there will be a tuck shop with snacks and drinks available for purchase. You're also welcome to bring your own refreshments.
The Golden Oldies LAN is open to gamers 16 and older. Attendees under 18 must have parental consent. We aim to recreate the nostalgic LAN party experience for those who remember the golden era of PC gaming.
We'll have a dedicated 1Gbps fiber line for the event. However, the focus of Golden Oldies LAN is on local network gaming rather than online play.
Yes! The venue will remain open throughout the weekend. You're welcome to bring a sleeping bag if you plan to catch some sleep between gaming sessions. We'll have a designated quiet area for those who need rest.
We'll have an installation stations where you can install the featured games that are legally free from original media. We can also help you with links to the store pages for the games that are not free.
By registering for and attending the Golden Oldies LAN 2025, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The organizers reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting on this website.
Registration is only complete upon full payment of the applicable fees. Registration fees are non-refundable except in the case of event cancellation by the organizers. Tickets are non-transferable without prior written consent from the event organizers.
All attendees must conduct themselves in a respectful and appropriate manner. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. The organizers reserve the right to remove any participant from the event without refund for violation of this code of conduct.
Participants are responsible for their own health and safety during the event. The organizers will take reasonable precautions to ensure a safe environment but cannot guarantee against illness, injury, or loss of personal property. No alcohol is permitted at the event. Attendees must comply with all venue safety regulations.
Attendees must be 16 years of age or older. Participants under 18 years of age must provide written consent from a parent or legal guardian to attend the event. The organizers reserve the right to request proof of age from any attendee.
Participants are responsible for bringing their own equipment as specified in the event guidelines. All software used during the event must be legally owned or licensed to the participant. The organizers do not condone or support the use of pirated software and reserve the right to remove participants found using such software.
The organizers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in any way connected with attendance at the event. By attending, participants assume all risk associated with the event, including but not limited to equipment damage, theft, personal injury, or data loss.
By attending the event, participants grant the organizers the right to take photographs and record videos that may include their likeness. These materials may be used for promotional purposes related to the Golden Oldies LAN and future events without compensation to the participant.
The organizers reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the event due to circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to natural disasters, health emergencies, or venue unavailability. In case of cancellation, refunds will be issued according to the refund policy outlined on this website.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
