1. Game Overview
Cherry Jump is a competitive platform game where players aim to collect cherries while navigating obstacles. The Steam leaderboard ranks players first by the number of cherries collected, then by completion time.
For the tournament, players must qualify through the Steam demo leaderboard, with the top 8 players advancing to a single-elimination bracket at the LAN event. During tournament play, players compete head-to-head in a best-of-3 format, with each player selecting a level from the demo for competition.
The primary goal is to collect more cherries than your opponent. If both players collect the same number of cherries, the faster completion time determines the winner.
3. Scoring and Attempt System
3.1 Scoring Priority
- Primary Factor: The player who collects more cherries on a map wins that map.
- Secondary Factor: If both players collect the same number of cherries, the faster time wins.
- Map Victory: First player to win 2 maps advances to the next round.
3.2 Attempt System (Tournament Playoffs)
- Regular Rounds: Each player receives exactly 3 attempts per map.
- Finals: Each player receives 10 attempts per map.
- Attempt Definition: An "attempt" is only counted when a player reaches the end trophy and the scoreboard updates.
- Resets: Players may restart their run at any point before reaching the end trophy without using up an attempt.
- Best Result Counts: Only the best performance (most cherries, then fastest time) from all completed attempts is used for scoring.
