1. Game Overview
Counter-Strike 1.6 is a classic team-based first-person shooter that pits terrorists against counter-terrorists in objective-based gameplay. This tournament will feature 5v5 team play in a single-elimination bracket format.
The tournament will take place starting at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 22, 2025, as part of the Golden Oldies LAN event.
Teams will compete in a structured competitive format with standard competitive settings and maps.
3. Team Requirements
3.1 Team Composition
- Team Size: Each team must have exactly 5 players.
- Substitutes: Teams may register 1 substitute player who can only be used between matches, not during a match.
- Team Captain: Each team must designate a captain who will communicate with tournament officials and make decisions on behalf of the team.
3.2 Team Names and Tags
- Team names and tags must be appropriate and not offensive.
- Players must use their registered in-game names throughout the tournament.
- All players must use the team tag in front of their names.
4. Match Settings
4.1 Game Settings
- Game Version: Latest clean version of Counter-Strike 1.6.
- Game Mode: Competitive 5v5.
- Round Time: 1 minute 45 seconds.
- Freeze Time: 15 seconds.
- Buy Time: 15 seconds.
- C4 Timer: 35 seconds.
- Rounds: First team to win 12 rounds (MR12).
- Overtime: In case of a 12-12 tie, MR3 (first to win 3 rounds) with $10,000 starting money.
- Starting Sides: Knife round to determine starting sides.
- Side Switch: Teams switch sides after 12 rounds.
4.2 Server Settings
- Tickrate: 100
- Anti-Cheat: Tournament administrators may install and require anti-cheat software.
- Config: Official tournament config will be provided and must be used.
5. Equipment and Setup
5.1 Hardware Requirements
- Players must use their own PCs at the LAN venue.
- Players must bring their own keyboard, mouse, and mousepad.
- Headphones are required (no open speakers allowed).
- Mouse drivers, keyboard drivers, and other necessary peripherals should be installed before the tournament starts.
5.2 Software Settings
- Only official, unmodified game files are permitted.
- Custom configs are allowed but must comply with tournament rules.
- No third-party modifications, including but not limited to texture packs, sound packs, or modified models are allowed.
- No scripts beyond what is allowed in the tournament rules (e.g., no "duck jump" scripts).
- FPS configs are allowed but must comply with tournament rules.
6. Player Conduct
6.1 General Rules
- Players must arrive 30 minutes before their scheduled match time.
- All teams must be ready to play at the specified match time. A 10-minute grace period may be given at the discretion of tournament administrators.
- Unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated and may result in warnings, penalty rounds, or disqualification.
- Teams must respect officials' decisions.
6.2 Prohibited Actions
- Using any form of cheats or hacks
- Exploiting known bugs or glitches
- Deliberately losing a match or conspiring to fix results
- Using offensive or discriminatory language
- Interfering with opponents physically or verbally
- Receiving coaching during active gameplay (only allowed during tactical timeouts)
- Using flash bugs or pixel walking
- Ghosting (receiving information from external sources during a match)
6.3 Timeouts
- Each team is allowed one 2-minute tactical timeout per map.
- Technical timeouts may be granted by tournament administrators to resolve technical issues.
7. Match Procedures
7.1 Pre-Match
- Teams must complete the map veto process before the match starts.
- Teams must be ready to start their match 10 minutes before the scheduled time.
- A knife round will determine starting sides.
7.2 During the Match
- If a player disconnects during the first 30 seconds of a round and no damage has been dealt, the round will be restarted.
- If a player disconnects after the first 30 seconds or after damage has been dealt, the round must continue.
- If a server crashes, the match will be restarted with the current score.
7.3 Post-Match
- Team captains must verify and sign off on match results with tournament administrators.
- Any disputes must be raised immediately after the match ends.
- Teams must prepare for their next match according to the schedule provided by tournament administrators.

8.3 Map Veto Process for BO3 Finals
- Team A bans 1 map
- Team B bans 1 map
- Team A picks the first map
- Team B picks the second map
- Team A bans 1 map
- Team B bans 1 map
- The remaining map is the decider if needed
- Teams choose sides on opponent's map pick
- Knife round decides sides on the decider map
9. Rule Modifications
The competition committee reserves the right to modify these rules before the tournament. Any changes will be communicated to all registered participants at least 14 days before the event.
During the tournament, tournament administrators may make emergency rule adjustments if necessary to maintain competitive integrity and fairness.
