1. Game Overview
TrackMania Nations Forever is a fast-paced racing game where players compete to set the fastest time on various tracks. The game features precise physics, challenging tracks, and rewards skillful driving and consistency.
For the tournament, players will compete in a knockout format, where the goal is to set faster times than your opponents on tracks selected by the tournament organizers. Each player will have a limited number of attempts per track, with their best time being used for scoring.
TrackMania Nations Forever is free to download on Steam and players are encouraged to practice the game before the tournament.
3. Scoring System
3.1 Time-based Scoring
- Best Time: Your best time from all attempts on a track will be used
- Winning Condition: The players with the fastest times on a track advances to the next round
- DNF (Did Not Finish): If a player fails to complete a track within the time limit, it counts as a DNF
- Tie-breaker: In case of an exact tie (extremely rare), both players will compete on a tie-breaker track
4. Equipment and Setup
4.1 Hardware Requirements
- Players must use their own PCs at the LAN event
- Players must bring their own keyboard, mouse, or controller
- All controllers must be tournament-legal (no macros or scripts)
4.2 Software Settings
- Game version: Latest version of TrackMania Nations Forever on Steam

5. Player Conduct
5.1 General Rules
- Players must follow all Golden Oldies LAN general conduct rules
- Players must be present at their designated stations at least 10 minutes before their scheduled match
- Each player may plays live on screen for audience viewing
- If a glitch or exploit is discovered, players should report it to officials immediately
- Players must respect officials' decisions
5.2 Prohibited Actions
- Using any unauthorized software or hardware modifications
- Interfering with opponents physically or verbally
- Receiving coaching during active gameplay
- Intentionally disconnecting or restarting the PC without authorization
6. Match Procedures
6.1 Pre-Match
- Players will have a 5-minute warmup period before each match
- Players must confirm they are ready to tournament officials
- Once both players confirm readiness, the match will begin
6.2 During Match
- Some attempts are performed live on screen for audience viewing
- In case of a technical issue, tournament officials may authorize a restart
6.3 Post-Match
- Results will be confirmed by tournament officials
- Any disputes must be raised immediately after the match
7. Map Selection
7.1 Map Pool
- All maps will be selected from the official TrackMania Nations Forever map pool
- The tournament will feature a variety of track styles including speed, technical, and mixed tracks
- Maps for each round will be announced atleast 5 minutes before the start of that round
8. Rule Modifications
The tournament committee reserves the right to modify these rules at any time. Any changes will be communicated to all registered participants before the tournament begins.
The decision of tournament officials is final in all matters related to the competition.
